Look younger with Botox, & Dysport treatments

Botox, Illinois For more than ten years, neuromodulators have been used to rejuvenate faces by softening dynamic wrinkles. The aesthetic team at Dermatology Specialists of Illinois offers Botox, & Dysport treatments in Algonquin and Woodstock.

Where neuromodulators are used

Botox, and Dysport can help you look younger and more natural by relaxing the facial muscles that cause deep wrinkles. These injectables are most commonly applied:
  • Between the eyebrows.
  • On the forehead.
  • Around the eyes.
  • At frown lines around the mouth.
  • To improve a gummy smile.

What to expect

Before and after picture of facial treatment, Illinois When properly administered, this medication helps restore a youthful appearance and enhances a person’s inherent beauty. Recently, Dr. Khanna notes that many younger patients think of injectables as a preventative measure against signs of aging.

In a Botox, or Dysport procedure, small aliquots of the medicine are placed into the desired area, and wrinkles diminish over one to ten days. This procedure is very quick – less than ten minutes – and usually has no downtime. You can return to work immediately!

Complications are uncommon with this frequently-used medication. Some patients' express concerns regarding treatment, that they will look “frozen” or “like Joan Rivers.” At Dermatology Specialists of Illinois, we administer Botox, and Dysport for natural looking results that will get our patients sincere compliments. We tailor treatment for your face and cosmetic goals.

Don’t sweat injections

Although anti-aging is the most common use of these products, in recent years there has been a substantial interest in neuromodulators for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). Botox, and Dysport are especially useful in treating excessive sweating of the armpits, hands, and feet. Most insurance plans cover use for treatment of hyperhidrosis.

Are you looking for an effective way to get rid of wrinkles? Botox treatment can help you do that. Dr. Vik Khanna, of Dermatology Specialist of Illinois, explains all about Botox in this video.
What is Botox?

Hi, this is Dr. Vic Khanna, and I wanted to speak briefly with you about Botox.

It's an effective treatment for deep wrinkles caused by the muscles that are part of the facial expression.

What areas can Botox be used?

One of the most common areas we use Botox is between the eyebrows. Some people call this the number 11; these are vertical lines in between the eyebrows.

The second most common area is the forehead, where these horizontally oriented lines are present when a person raises their eyebrows.

The crow's feet, or the lines around the eyes, that's another common spot.

We use it around the lips as well for some patients, and we can also use it if someone has a real gummy smile; we can relax that with Botox.

What are the benefits of Botox?

It helps relax these muscles that are in a state of dynamic movement, and they cause creasing and wrinkling on our face just by relaxing these muscles.

The face looks more youthful and calm. People feel more relaxed when you're not making those expressions and feel better too.

We find that younger people are doing Botox, and many people in their 20s are starting to do it because they think of it as a preventative measure against the signs of aging.

If you have these types of lines, then you are an ideal candidate for Botox. There's nothing quite like it. It works for pretty much everyone, and you could say 98% of people will get results from it.
